How to verify your account on the new BuyPower mobile app

The new BuyPower app has a new look and a lot of added features we believe you'll be excited to explore. One of the features is the verification of your account to guarantee your account security while using the app.

Your account would still function without the verification, but we encourage you to carry this verification process out to get the best of the BuyPower app.

Still wondering if you should go ahead? Here are some reasons why you should verify your account:

  1. You can save your debit cards, and make your transactions easier and faster.
  2. You can easily save your meter details to save time.
  3. You would be eligible for BuyPower offers like giveaways, discounts and special product details.
  4. Your account and wallet would be secured.

If your account is unverified, the banner below would be at the top of the screen when you open the app:

When you click on ‘Verify’, a screen with four actions will pop up on your screen; these are the steps to verify your account and become a secured user.

Here are the four steps below:

How to verify your phone number:

  • Click on ‘verify your phone number’
  • Enter the OTP that has been sent to you.
  • Click ‘Verify’
  • Once this is done, your phone number will be verified and the status will change to ‘Done’

How to verify your email address

  • Click on “verify your email address”
  • Enter your email address
  • Click on ‘send OTP’
  • Your email address will be verified
  • The verification status will change to ‘Done’


Secure your account

  • Click on “Secure your account”
  • Create a password
  • Your account is now secure
  • The verification status will change to ‘Done’

Secure your wallet

  • Click on “Secure your wallet”
  • Create a transaction pin
  • Your wallet is now secure
  • The verification status will change to ‘Done’
