Here’s How to Reset Your MEMMCOL Prepaid Meter

If you’ve been using a MEMMCOL electricity meter, you might need to reset your meter occasionally. This is particularly necessary when you haven’t recharged your prepaid meter in a while. If you try to load your token after this period, you’ll be required to initiate a reset.

To avoid resetting your meter constantly, you should try to buy your electricity units from Buypower before it runs out. However, if you’re already in a fix, no worries. Resetting your meter is as easy as peeling a banana.

The fastest way to reset or configure your MEMMCOL meter is by using a meter reset code. In this post, I’ll be showing you how to use two different reset codes on your meter.

How to Reset Your MEMMCOL Meter in Five Easy Steps

1. Kindly key in ‘990’ on your meter and press the enter button
2. Next, punch in ‘8888’ and enter
3. Finally, key in ‘999’ and enter
4. On your meter, you’ll get a RESET displayed on your screen.
5. You can now proceed to load your token

In the unlikely event that the reset code above doesn’t go through, you can always try an alternative code.

An Alternative Way to Reset Your MEMMCOL Meter

1. Simply key in ‘990’ on your meter and press enter
2. Then punch in ‘0000’ and enter again
3. Finally, key in ‘999’ and then enter
4. On your meter, you’ll get a RESET displayed on your screen.
5. You can now proceed to load your token

What Happens When I Have a New MEMMCOL Meter?

If you have a new meter, you’d need to initiate activation. And activating a new meter requires an activation code.

An activation code is a set of two 20-digit numbers. To get this code, kindly contact your distribution company directly. During this contact with your disco, you’ll be instructed on how to load the code.

If you already have an activation code from your distribution company, after the reset, simply key in the two sets of the 20-digit code in the order you were given. Once you’ve loaded your activation code on your MEMMCOL meter, you can then proceed to load your token.
